There’s no place hotter than Arizona when it comes to sports. Home to the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals, AZ Diamondbacks and more – there have been some truly memorable moments in the sporting world right here in the valley. Here are a few of the moments that we’ll never forget!

Steve Nash Chips a Tooth

Steve Nash, dynamic hall of fame point guard, had many memorably moments in his time sporting the Phoenix Suns jersey. Having come from a hockey background, this sturdy Canadian had a reputation for being tough. During one game against the Utah Jazz, Nash took a blow to the face before halftime and had his tooth knocked out. What followed was one of the more hilarious in-game interviews, perhaps ever.

Diamondbacks Win the Series

Shortly after the Diamondbacks became MLB’s newest expansion team, they swung their way into the World Series against a veteran ball club in the New York Yankees. After suffering devastating losses, the Yankees pushed the series to a game 7. In an unforgettable at bat, Luis Gonzalez hit a floater into center field and brought home the go ahead run – winning the first major championship in Arizona history.

Fitzgerald Nearly Wins Superbowl

If it weren’t for a tremendous drive by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the last remaining minutes of Super Bowl XLIII, this touchdown reception by Larry Fitzgerald would go down as the play of the game. While this play has done more to torment Cardinals fans, a quick glimpse at glory, it’s still awesome to relive those fleeting moments when the trophy looked imminent.
